>>>>>New 2008<<<<<
>>>>>Hey folks! It’s a new season so check out the
new 2008 updates about available crops and our first farmer’s market.<<<<<
North Slope Farm is a 50 acre, diversified organic farm, located in central, western New Jersey. Primary cash crops are vegetables, flowers and herbs grown on three acres. Other management responsibilities include hay, straw, pasture, fruit, infrastructure, waterways, buffer zones, woodlands, wetlands and community involvement. We serve a variety of markets including our retail farm stand, off-site farmers markets, wholesale accounts and special projects. Primary tillage and cultivation is done with both tractors and hand tools. While we strive to improve the efficiency and mechanization of crop care, the production crew remains the most valuable aspect. To this end, we have created a Stewardship Guild, to give prospective farm crews the best training possible in organic farming.
Goals of North Slope Farm:
Provide stewardship of the land owned and operated by North Slope Farm while serving the community with fresh, local, organically grown produce and farm products at a reasonable cost.
To provide high quality, farm based products and services to our retail customers and wholesale accounts.
To develop a profitable business which allows us to find joy and pride in the work we do.
To create a positive environment and fulfilling work for those employed at North Slope Farm and act as an educational resource, both for employees and the community, in sustainable agricultural methods and responsible care for valuable resources.
To support other regional, sustainable and environmentally responsible businesses, organizations and projects.
